Click http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/interactives/campaign08/election/uscounties.html . I would like you to note that by geographic area the country is mostly conservative. I would also like you to note that the parts of the country that actually produce, food, energy, and most products are located in the Red areas, and the that the blue areas are located around the edges (east and left coast) and in the big cities. These areas are geographically small and isolated. If we end up having the liberal/progressive crazies keeping up their onslaught of socialism, the red areas have a pretty good hold on the parts that make society function on a basic level, again food and fuel. I am not suggesting we acutally use this to our advantage, yet, but it is a very interesting observation. No food, no fuel, no power. Just a thought.

The Guvments Ultimate Goal

I have finally come to the conclusion that all this banter in Washington over taxes, bailouts, health care, etc. is basically about our country turning into a democratic dictatorship. The party now in power wants to control everything you do, your business, your health, your children's education, and your money. They realize that the money is key to control of everything else. Mr. Obama wants to take money from those that have it, and set up a tax system that forces you to do what they want to keep them from taking every red cent. Then take that money and give it to the people with less money, and therefore power, to buy their votes for the next election so they can stay in power.

The left is scared of the people in this country that have money (power), influence (power), access to the free press (power), and of course guns (power). The left is terrified of religion because it is another form of organization, and because it replaces the government as the seat of all that is good and powerful. A Higher Power is terrifying to them, since people that believe in that Higher Power are not scared of being defiant of the governments power. The Tea Parties scare the bejeezes out of the left because it is people organizing with out the great community organizers help. I believe that the next round of elections will be tough on this country but we need to split the power base in Washington so that nothing can get done. It seems to work better that way.

This Guy Hits the Nail SQUARE ON THE HEAD!!!

I wish I could take credit for this great piece of work and thoughts, but alas I can't. It came from a message board on Yahoo. Please read and contemplate. This is from Jack in Massachusetts

Obama could not fix this economy if China forgave our whole national debt...His very being as president is to destroy the rich and corporate america so he can tax them to death, where as such new tax will let him create more government and social programs geared for the millions of poor minority folks in this nation.Obama could care less about middle class white america. His presidency is geared for one thing only, take white middle america down and raise poor minority folk america UP. He is an equalizer an chief, not a commander an chief. He envisions a one class wealth system in america. Well, it is up to you now white america. Obama has declared war on you, on your christianity, on your pay checks, even on how and what you should think. There was a little german paper hanger 70 years ago that no one believed during his reign could so turn up-side down a country called germany, then subsequently the world. No, Obama is not Hitler ( although he hates the Jews) but, he is just as dangerous. Freedom is exactly that, Freedom. Look the word up.Freedom is to speak and think as you like, it is to dream for a better life, or just be a lazy fk and sit home collecting welfare, while teaching your children how to grow up and get on welfare also..We now have achieved a forth generational family welfare structure for millions of americans. But for those that would say FREEDOM is the people that dream and work for a better life, then they must destroy their dreams to pay for the latter who choose to sit home and collect from the very government that buys their votes with SOCIAL bribes, by taking the very FREEDOMS away from the people they help. Those people are sick and demented that plan this act of moral treason. There is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING worse then giving people just enough food stamps, just enough welfare money, just enough fuel assistance, just enough housing rent, just enough medical care to let them sit at home in an existence that stole the FREEDOM and the chance for the AMERICAN dream away from them.Oh yes, by doing so you ensure millions of loyal votes for the democrat party, and yes you can pretend how you helped poor america. But in the end your true motive was sinister not compassion, calculated not not sincere. You were trying to ensure a democrat voter base for your party, by taking away the one FREEDOM that every single person in life needs to feel.Necessity! When you take necessity away from poor america, you take their FREEDOM away, for only through necessity do you strive to achieve the very things you need. That is the greatest sin of the democrat party. You rob people of their need to survive, for you give them just enough to do so and expect your thanks at the ballot box. There is a revolt coming, a revolt the likes this nation has never seen. Business are going to re-incorporate overseas, The rich are going to so diversify their holdings into so many sub-entity's that your knew tax increases will fail. Employers are going to cut way back on employee's because of your carbon tax. Farmers just might stop growing crops for one year, that along by in itself would destroy america.Another words democrats, czars and obama, the people are going to rise up against you. In the end, obama will have single handedly destroyed america from with-in after 4 years. And yes in 4 years the media will blame it on President Bush.

Vegans are killing the world!!!!!!

I am going to start a new food movement, watch out Southern Foodways Alliance. I believe that the vegans are causing global warming. What happens when you eat only vegetables, especially beans, same problem as cows, who eat only vegetables. In addition, what happens when you kill plants to eat them. They are no longer able to remove the carbon dioxide that causes global warming. So I am proposing that we approach this from a liberal point of view. Step 1. Start a movement to have only synthetically produced food available (anyone remember Soylent Green). Step 2. Tax all vegetables and all other produce ( this would be akin to a carbon tax) and have a progressive tax that the more you eat the more you are taxed. Step 3. Try to convince us that this will save the world and that anyone that is against this movement is a NeoCon.

Sounds crazy doesn't it? Well this is what is happening in Washington right now with the energy, health care, economy, etc. Google the movie Soylent Green and find out that 36 years ago someone was prescient enough to see that big government turns out to only be interested in self perpetuation, and Orwell's 1984 is not so far off either. I believe I am going to have a large steak and baked potato (I am an omnivore!!!) and a large does of the cure. I think the bureaucrats in Washington would legislate much better if they started their day with a fifth for breakfast, maybe they would be asleep by noon and cause us less trouble.

Where do these people come from?

I just love the news we have received today. Republican Governor Mark Sanford went "hiking" supposedly on the Appalachian Trail, which turns out to be code for Argentina, and we can only guess what "hiking" means. He disappearred from the face of the earth, reappears in Atlanta and then goes on to tell us that he "disappointed" and hurt a lot of people. HUH??????????????
I guess he just forgot what the cost for this would be to his sons, wife, and constituents.

I don't understand what it is with people that attain positions of power. I think that they believe they are above morality and that they won't ever get caught. Well lets see, Clinton, Edwards, Kennedy, Guilliani, McCain. What is it with these folks? Does power corrupt and absolute power corrupt absulutely?

Please give me a politician that can keep his pants zipped, follow through on his rhetoric, and walk the walk (including following Christian teachings) and not just talk the talk. And I mean walk the walk for a lifetime not only when convenient. I believe we should insert a morality clause into the constitution that forces politicians to leave office if they are so inclined to venture too far afield. I do believe in redemption, but would rather have good examples for my children. My teenager looked at me and said "at least it wasn't a man". What is this world coming too?

I do pray for these people, and hope they find their way back to the right path.

No wonder that no one trusts politicians.

HEALTH INSURANCE FOR EVERYONE, WHY?

I think the latest healthcare issues are very interesting. I read an article that pointed out that the party in power referred to the "uninsured in America", not "uninsured Americans". I guess that is so they can claim they always meant to insure the illegal aliens, that just happened to come to the US, don't pay taxes, but will probably be counted in the next census run by Mr. Obama and ACORN.

I don't believe that health insurance is a inalienable right, just as having an EBT card and getting to eat steak, while all of the people paying for that EBT card eat hamburger and store brand foods. I think if healthcare is going to be fixed we need to fix the whole damn thing not just the feel good parts that buy votes for the Dems.

Here is my suggestion.

1. Limit malpractice suits to a reasonable level, like $500,000 if the Doc cuts off the wrong leg. (will drive plaintiffs bar crazy, because yachts will be out of the price range with these small settlements).

2. Replace Medicaid with a system of free clinics owned by the government and staffed with left leaning doctors, or better yet PETA people. (Oops I forgot to include free vet clinics in with it).

3. DO not provide medical coverage to illegal aliens unless they pay up front, and don't let babies born to illegals in the US become citizens. (I don't understand how someone here illegally should have the rights of legal citizens).

4. LEAVE me the hell alone about my private health insurance that cost out the tail. Anyway about 1/3 of that goes to cover all the damn people in items 2 and 3.

5. If you insist on universal coverage, let anyone that wants to "opt out" and sign a waiver saying they don't ever want government help, and let me keep my private insurance, and let that develop into a better private healthcare system with on burden from the dead beats.

6. Send all the folks that want universal healthcare to Canada, where they can end up dying waiting to have an ingrown toenail removed.

These guvment people drive me crazy, we need the country run by a bunch of practical people not a bunch of lawyers that could not even cut it as lawyers.

I am going to get a touch of the cure.

PAY CZAR, ARE WE RUSSIAN????

What is this country coming too? Now we have the guvment telling our capitalist (well used to be) companies how much they can pay their muckatemucks. This is pure and simply SOCIALISM. Here is how it works. The guvment is now controlling the banks that will control the money that can be used to bail out the car companies, that can employ the unions (oops, I forgot the unions know own the companies, and control the congress), that will now produce electric cars, so that the oil companies will not have anything to sell, so that we will have to buy more electricity, so that everyone will have to pay higher energy taxes after the cap and trade for carbon emissions, so that we will have to go on welfare, so we can't pay our mortgages, and the we can be all housed in guvment housing (that the chinese own), and buy our groceries with the EBT card, all of this happens after they confiscate our guns because they might get used in the mexican drug wars. This country is going to HELL IN A HANDBASKET, and we are letting it happen. I guess I am going to have to start producing the cure on a commerical basis and barter for my guns and bullets, after I have a touch of the cure.

My new Moto is "Don't Tread on Me!" lookup the Gadsden Flag.

SQUUUUUZEEED

Well I either missed my career choice on the high side or low side, because in the middle sure ain't the place to be. I could have been a Wall Street fat cat and lost billions of dollars and still gotten a huge bonus for last year, more than I will make in most of my life, or a low life lazy bum that gets government handouts, got a $300,000 house on a McDonald's salary and will now get to keep it with our money paying his house note. Where the hell did this come from???? It seems that it is now fiscally irresponsible to pay your bills, live within your means, and act like you have half a bucket of sense.

Were are a month into four years of sheer fiscal HELL. By the time these idiots get done with the economy we will have the standard of living or Rwanda, Botswana, or some other third world country. Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid have STIMULATED me to an extreme extent. How can the congress spend $800,000,000,000 (8x10^12, I think I'm right after a few doses of the cure), in less than 24 hours and not even give the American public the time to read the damn thing. Oh, I forgot that about half of the public could not read 1,100 pages of crap in less than a year due to our wonderful education system. I would just take my cut and invest it in rubles, dinars, pesos, or other currency that will be worth at least something in the future. Mr. Obama is turning into the WORST Jimmy Carter that I have ever seen. I,m going back and get another dose of the cure to help me through this. Matter of fact, I am going to load up on several CASES of the cure with some American dollars while they are still worth something. At least I will be able to numb the pain a little on the way.

TAX ISSUES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well my friends it seems that the meek are not the only ones that can't seem to pay their taxes properly. Pres. Obama has chosen two, purportedly intelligent, men to head parts of his cabinet that can't even seem to get the tax paying thing correct. I am not sure whether these two fine men were skipping out on paying their taxes, did not think they would be caught, or just could not figure out the damn tax code. I know people that probably fall into all three of these.

I have a solution to the umpteen thousand pages of tax laws. We need a FLAT tax. Just take 10 to 15% of every ones pay, bonuses, capital gains, etc and be done with deductions, loop holes, forgotten little perks, etc. It would cut the need for the IRS, some accountants, and a whole bunch of wasted money getting people to figure out how to keep you from paying your taxes. Oh, wait a minute, that would hurt our economy because it would get rid of government jobs, and seasonal workers from the likes of H&R Block. I guess all the money that would be put back into the economy could not make up for those government jobs.

We need some common sense again, spend less than you make, save your money, do something productive for a living, and help you neighbor. But again that would cut the government out of running our lives for us. I need a real good batch of the cure to get me over these folks.

The TARP

I don't know about where your from, but around these parts we know about the use of a TARP. It is used to cover up JUNK. We use tarps to cover up all our stuff that really isn't worth putting in a building or worrying to much about. We also use them to cover up the stuff that is just so junky that we don't want our neighbors to see. We cover up rusted out trucks, tires, old furniture with peeling veneer, tractor parts, and just about anything else that ain't good enough to put in a proper shed.

Well I think that the folks in Washington finally got an acronym about right. The Trouble Asset Relief Fund (TARP) is just about the same as what we cover our junk with. It is being used to cover up all the Wall Street crap that they don't won't us, their redneck neighbors, to see. And just like a regular tarp this TARP will finally start fraying and getting holes in it so we can see what is hidden underneath. I am afraid that it will be about the same as what is hidden under most tarps. But I guarantee that this junk will be a whole lot uglier and more expensive. My two cents, probably all any of us will have left when this is over.

Lessons from an Old Horse

Sometimes God seems to send strange people or creatures to help teach you things. This week this "learning" has come from an old horse that just sort of ended up with us. We bought a pasture last year with several horses on it, they all needed to be moved before the purchase was complete. Well, sale day came and went and all horses were gone except for one old mare that had feet about as bad as any I had ever seen. The horses owner said that we could have her, most likely not wanting to have to deal with having to take her to a sale or put her down. My farrier (a true horse guru) said that he thought that we might be able to save her. We are a year into getting her back into shape, and making slow progress.

This old girl has taught me much about patience, trust, perseverance, stoic bearing of your circumstances, and love. At first she could take about three steps and stop for 15 minutes to just let her feet rest. On good days she can get into a trot, on bad days she can gimp along a few steps at a time, but he worst days are better than her best when we first came to know her. After almost a year she will now amble over to the fence when I show up just to speak, and even when I have to clean her feet or do other unpleasant things, she never complains and will most likely put her head against your chest when you get done. She is stoic about her situation, never complaining as my other spoiled horses do.

Over the last year I have learned many lessons from this old stray horse. Mostly to be thankful for what you have. As bad as she had it in the past, it seems God found a way for her to be taken care and for her to teach some horse novices lesson not only about horses but about life. God seems to have strange ways of working and through some unlikely creatures. I believe that she has faith that she will be taken care of, even though sometimes the things that we have to do to her probably are scary and unpleasant, she still takes it all in stride and with great grace. I hope that I truly absorb these lessons and can apply them in my life. Never overlook the things in life that are trying to teach you something. It has taken me along time to realize that this old girl was given to me for a multitude of reasons and the most important has been to teach me several lessons that I probably had not listened to before. I hope you all have a very Merry CHRISTmas. Please remember the reason for the season.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Last month it was 25 BILLION now it is 34 BILLION. The car folks are like teenagers asking for more cash and not telling us that the extra 9 BILLION is to buy extra beer with. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING. If we give them that much money the auto companies should give each taxpaying American a damn free car and then they would be bankrupt anyway. I should at least get another truck out of the deal before I have to buy a Japanese psuedotruck. Congress is just pandering to the unions, management is trying to figure out how to put up enough money to retire to the Caribbean, Gettlefinger is just trying to figure out what happened, and they all are trying to hurry up and get done before the taxpayer figures out that someone forgot the Vaseline. All our "donkeys" behaved for the most part. Big Dog my QH acted up just enough to make it fun, he usually has a couple of good kicks before his first canter of the day. The two fillys took off and had a good time except for the normal mare moments between the two. Still trying to figure out who is boss. It was a beautiful afternoon and a good way to waste time before gun season opens. Won't be much hoss riding once deer season opens, to busy and to many folks can't tell the difference in a horse and a big doe. I guess the house democrats can't tell the difference and that is why they support gun control, don't want any horses being mistaken for deer, just kidding, the just don't like venison steak. But you could use a sure nuff good dose for pain relief if they use my proposal.

Here it is. LET EM FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Use a preplanned bankruptcy like the airlines used. Here is what you get reorganized streamlined automotive manufacturers more focused on what we want and better able to compete with the "foreign" automakers that make cars in such foreign places like Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama; debt restructured such that they can pay for it, pension plan benefits that are more on a normal level, and a new contract for the UAW that is overseen by the court such that the benefits are more in-line with the level of profit each employee provides to the company. Detroit's cost are 2.5 to 3x the "foreign" automakers, and everyone wonders why Detroit cars are lower quality for the same price. If they could put the labor cost into quality improvements, we could get the same car for 10 to 15% less and have the Big 2.5 make a profit.

I do not want to see the U.S. automakers fail, but sometimes it takes a Phoenix type revival to start again. I agree that the U.S. auto industry has suffered mismanagement in the past, but the UAW is over 50% of the problem. It is now a time to give the UAW a choice. Good paying jobs for the next 100 years or a great paying job for the next six months. Gettlefinger has a tough choice take a hard line and become irrelevant, or swallow his pride and do what is best for his union members, the auto industry, and the country. This country was built on one person one vote, by secret ballot. The country has elected its' first black president and this bodes well for putting aside racial questions for the future. He was elected by the complete color spectrum. Although I do not share his left wing liberal political views, I do wish him well and I hope he will govern from the center for the good of the USA. If Mr. Obama, Ms. Pelosi, and Mr. Reid use this occasion only to advance the far left agenda, it will come back to haunt them for a very long time.

I am concerned about the direction our nation will now move. I see many of the older laws that are now no longer needed ( i.e affirmative action legislation). I do agree that change is needed, but not liberal, leftist change. I am a staunch conservative on fiscal policy, and big government, somewhat more centrist on personal issues.

We must hope that Mr. Obama's harsh rhetoric against certain industries, for higher taxes on those that have the means to drive the economy, and on certain environmental issues that could cause the US to be uncompetetive were just that, rhetoric to help him get elected. We must pray that he picks a more centrist cabinet and works toward the center, although his past legislative agenda does not point to this.

We must also hope that Mr. Obama will not kow-tow to his base and just hand out money. He must use the bully-pulpit to drive those that do not want to work to take part and be productive in this nation. He must use this opportunity to push for all people to be productive parts of the society, including the 40% that do not currently pay income tax. I do hope that this will show all people that the USA is the land of opportunity, where hardwork can make a difference and let you get ahead. If Mr. Obama is nothing else it he is an example of what hardwork and initiative can bring.

The conservatives must now regroup and find a way to be relavent in the current political atmosphere. I believe that all conservatives must now work together to ensure that we do not allow the far left to become the absolute rulers of this country.

I do believe that this is a watershed moment in the history of our country. I does truly matter how the country reacts whether it is positive or negative. If we become divided with hate groups on both sides (i.e. KKK and Black Panthers) this potentially positive happening could bring mass chaos, political and social unrest, and race wars. Our country does not need this at anytime but especially not now.

We must all pray for our Country and our elected officials, and hope that they do believe in God and will ask for his divine guidance.

I hope I will be in my usual ironically satirical mood soon. This election has worn me out as I suspect it has many other.

Selfish, Hell Yea!

Selfish because I don't want to pay a higher tax rate.? Seems that all that talk about redistribution is making them even more likely to try to redistribute even more. Now who would you rather trust with your retirement funds, the folks that end up with $6,000 dollar toilet seats on our bombers when Wally World has them for $6. This is exactly where your money could be going, right down there under your toilet seat. Looks like the liberal braintrust now wants to keep your money, make you pay 5% more of what you earn into a federal pension plan, and then give you a 3% return. Will you even put your money in a 6 month CD at 3%, I sure won't. The possible Three Headed Dog will likely also have a big appetite for more of our money and will even try to tell us how to spend what they don't take. I wish I had enough imagination to make all this up. I guess I will need a really big dose of the CURE to get over even the thought of this. Here is the link to the story.

The Cure for Our Politics

I'm tired of all the politics. By now we know what the liberal media, and some conservatives think about the presidential race, and if the polls are right we will be hearing much crowing from the left (We WON woohoo!) and the right (Sarah Palin was much to provincial to help John McCain win).

I have found the cure for our political season!!!!!!!!!!! Bourbon, in all flavors. Does bourbon have flavors? Hell yes!!! Evidently the Saudi's and OPEC don't care about polar bears either, since they are pushing their black gold just as hard as ever. I don't care about polar bears, or global warming, or most of the other 10,000 reasons for alternative energy. If polar bears and global warming float your boat (and with global warming you will have more ocean than ever to float in) on getting the US off of the crack habit (oops I mean oil) then more power too ya! I believe that alternative energy, in all its forms, is a great and wonderful thing. We can get energy from the wind when the sun don't shine and energy from the sun when the wind is calm. The ocean is going to go up and down regardless of what we do and we should use that too. I love atom smashing the the heat from that so let's go nuke. Geothermal also warms my heart.

Look folks this is one area where we need to be self sufficient. Once self sufficient oil will cost $20 bucks a barrel because no one in the US will need it. The Middle East will not be rife with money and then will not have the capability to hold our attention, thus we will not need to have a military presence there. Some day we may be back to help ourselves to free sunshine and not oil.

This is one plan where T. Bone, excuse me T.Boone Pickens, the Green Party, the Natural Resources Defense Fund, the Republicans, the Democrats, Winnie the Pooh and everyone else can agree. More energy at home, equals better security, equals more jobs here, equals less green house gases, less global warming (or cooling depending on your politics), better ice for the polar bears, and a generally better U.S. economy. I guess the only problem will be with the threatened Prairie Chicken in the Texas Panhandle and the endangered desert tortoise in California. But hey, why should I care about them, I've already written off the bears.

GNR (Guns n Religion)

So, why are the liberals so afraid of GNR (well in the original Axl was pretty scary)? And why does Mr. Obama decry the folks in western PA as clinging to their "guns and religion"? I believe these are the same people that Mr. Murtha (an elected representative of these same people) called "Rednecks" as a correction to a prior comment that I will not rehash.

The liberals are afraid of these two things above all else, because the nexus of the two is POWER in the hands of the people. The liberals know that they will not be able to control the populous if it has firearms that could potentially be used to resist their "benevolent" plans for the country. The distibuted ownership of firearms negates much of their power over the country. Religion also negates their power, because people that believe in God owe their allegiance and to a power much higher than any government. Mr. Obama also flippantly acknowledged this in his "higher than my pay grade" comment on abortion.

Yes the liberals are afraid of GNR and rightly so. As long as these two rights are not removed from the American people we have a chance. If we allow the government to subvert our rights, especially these two, we are sliding further down the path of socialism and on or way to a Marxist country. Everyone please cling to your GNR for the good of the USA.

Our Government is on Drugs

Our government must be on crack, or meth, or coke. I think it must definitely be meth. These folks can't sit still long enough to let any of their other drug induced plans take effect before they want to try something else. I believe they are addicted. The problem is that the liberals have hooked the conservatives and now everyone in Washington seems to need a fix, and on a more regular basis.

Does this country really need another "stimulus" package (i.e. hit)? What we really need is an intervention and rehab. Maybe then our country could get back to being clean and sober in a fiscal sense.

On second though, the drug that Washington is on is called "Money" with a little extra toke of "Power". How can you borrow your way out of debt? I cant' borrow my way out of debt, so how can the US or the rest of the world. Our great and wonderful leaders decided to give away money to banks, companies, homeless polar bears, but where did they get the money. I guess the same place that they have propose to get another 150 BILLION to give to the general populace to kick start the economy. Unfortunately, this is the same thing that got us into this problem we know have. Borrow now for x, y or z ($500,000 house on $25K salary) and worry about it latter. Well Washington Weasels LATTER HAS COME, and will keep coming until we can live within our means, everyone fends for themselves, and you quite lining your pockets with our money. I think a dose of Caveman reality needs to be put back into our society. If you want to eat you have to go out, kill something and drag it home.

Folks in Mississippi will be fine for right now because most of us are still gun toting, Bible believing, hardworking folks that can go out and literally kill something and bring it home for supper. Lets hope it does not come to that and that our "friends" in Washington won't take our rights away to have guns or the Bible. It looks like were heading down the road to socialism (gov't owned businesses) which eventually leads to communism. Especially if the election goes the way it looks right now (Marxism here we come). If times get bad enough the sad fact is many people will look to the government to rescue them individually (just like it is now resuceing the banking system) and there we go a little further down the socialist path.
