PAY CZAR, ARE WE RUSSIAN????

What is this country coming too? Now we have the guvment telling our capitalist (well used to be) companies how much they can pay their muckatemucks. This is pure and simply SOCIALISM. Here is how it works. The guvment is now controlling the banks that will control the money that can be used to bail out the car companies, that can employ the unions (oops, I forgot the unions know own the companies, and control the congress), that will now produce electric cars, so that the oil companies will not have anything to sell, so that we will have to buy more electricity, so that everyone will have to pay higher energy taxes after the cap and trade for carbon emissions, so that we will have to go on welfare, so we can't pay our mortgages, and the we can be all housed in guvment housing (that the chinese own), and buy our groceries with the EBT card, all of this happens after they confiscate our guns because they might get used in the mexican drug wars. This country is going to HELL IN A HANDBASKET, and we are letting it happen. I guess I am going to have to start producing the cure on a commerical basis and barter for my guns and bullets, after I have a touch of the cure.

SQUUUUUZEEED

Well I either missed my career choice on the high side or low side, because in the middle sure ain't the place to be. I could have been a Wall Street fat cat and lost billions of dollars and still gotten a huge bonus for last year, more than I will make in most of my life, or a low life lazy bum that gets government handouts, got a $300,000 house on a McDonald's salary and will now get to keep it with our money paying his house note. Where the hell did this come from???? It seems that it is now fiscally irresponsible to pay your bills, live within your means, and act like you have half a bucket of sense.

Were are a month into four years of sheer fiscal HELL. By the time these idiots get done with the economy we will have the standard of living or Rwanda, Botswana, or some other third world country. Nancy and Harry are buying their votes from their constituency right now and when the let all the illegals vote the rest of us will have to move to Canada to feel like we are in a normal democracy, and I thought the Canucks were socialist leaning. My predictions are that the dems will outlaw all guns (scared of a revolution), outlaw liquor (causes diseases), and make marijuana legal to help out their friends south of the border.

WHERE ARE WE HEADED??? I SURE CAN'T TELL, EXCEPT DOWN THE PRIMROSE PATH.

STIMULATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Damn, I'm terribly stimulated, even after Evan Williams and I have gone a few rounds. Ms. Pelosi and Mr. Reid have STIMULATED me to an extreme extent. How can the congress spend $800,000,000,000 (8x10^12, I think I'm right after a few doses of the cure), in less than 24 hours and not even give the American public the time to read the damn thing. Oh, I forgot that about half of the public could not read 1,100 pages of crap in less than a year due to our wonderful education system. I would just take my cut and invest it in rubles, dinars, pesos, or other currency that will be worth at least something in the future. Mr. Obama is turning into the WORST Jimmy Carter that I have ever seen. I,m going back and get another dose of the cure to help me through this. Matter of fact, I am going to load up on several CASES of the cure with some American dollars while they are still worth something. At least I will be able to numb the pain a little on the way.

TAX ISSUES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Well my friends it seems that the meek are not the only ones that can't seem to pay their taxes properly. Pres. Obama has chosen two, purportedly intelligent, men to head parts of his cabinet that can't even seem to get the tax paying thing correct. I am not sure whether these two fine men were skipping out on paying their taxes, did not think they would be caught, or just could not figure out the damn tax code. I know people that probably fall into all three of these.

I have a solution to the umpteen thousand pages of tax laws. We need a FLAT tax. Just take 10 to 15% of every ones pay, bonuses, capital gains, etc and be done with deductions, loop holes, forgotten little perks, etc. It would cut the need for the IRS, some accountants, and a whole bunch of wasted money getting people to figure out how to keep you from paying your taxes. Oh, wait a minute, that would hurt our economy because it would get rid of government jobs, and seasonal workers from the likes of H&R Block. I guess all the money that would be put back into the economy could not make up for those government jobs.

We need some common sense again, spend less than you make, save your money, do something productive for a living, and help you neighbor. But again that would cut the government out of running our lives for us. I need a real good batch of the cure to get me over these folks.

The TARP

I don't know about where your from, but around these parts we know about the use of a TARP. It is used to cover up JUNK. We use tarps to cover up all our stuff that really isn't worth putting in a building or worrying to much about. We also use them to cover up the stuff that is just so junky that we don't want our neighbors to see. We cover up rusted out trucks, tires, old furniture with peeling veneer, tractor parts, and just about anything else that ain't good enough to put in a proper shed.

Well I think that the folks in Washington finally got an acronym about right. The Trouble Asset Relief Fund (TARP) is just about the same as what we cover our junk with. It is being used to cover up all the Wall Street crap that they don't won't us, their redneck neighbors, to see. And just like a regular tarp this TARP will finally start fraying and getting holes in it so we can see what is hidden underneath. I am afraid that it will be about the same as what is hidden under most tarps. But I guarantee that this junk will be a whole lot uglier and more expensive. My two cents, probably all any of us will have left when this is over.

Lessons from an Old Horse

Sometimes God seems to send strange people or creatures to help teach you things. This week this "learning" has come from an old horse that just sort of ended up with us. We bought a pasture last year with several horses on it, they all needed to be moved before the purchase was complete. Well, sale day came and went and all horses were gone except for one old mare that had feet about as bad as any I had ever seen. The horses owner said that we could have her, most likely not wanting to have to deal with having to take her to a sale or put her down. My farrier (a true horse guru) said that he thought that we might be able to save her. We are a year into getting her back into shape, and making slow progress.

This old girl has taught me much about patience, trust, perseverance, stoic bearing of your circumstances, and love. At first she could take about three steps and stop for 15 minutes to just let her feet rest. On good days she can get into a trot, on bad days she can gimp along a few steps at a time, but he worst days are better than her best when we first came to know her. After almost a year she will now amble over to the fence when I show up just to speak, and even when I have to clean her feet or do other unpleasant things, she never complains and will most likely put her head against your chest when you get done. She is stoic about her situation, never complaining as my other spoiled horses do.

Over the last year I have learned many lessons from this old stray horse. Mostly to be thankful for what you have. As bad as she had it in the past, it seems God found a way for her to be taken care and for her to teach some horse novices lesson not only about horses but about life. God seems to have strange ways of working and through some unlikely creatures. I believe that she has faith that she will be taken care of, even though sometimes the things that we have to do to her probably are scary and unpleasant, she still takes it all in stride and with great grace. I hope that I truly absorb these lessons and can apply them in my life. Never overlook the things in life that are trying to teach you something. It has taken me along time to realize that this old girl was given to me for a multitude of reasons and the most important has been to teach me several lessons that I probably had not listened to before. I hope you all have a very Merry CHRISTmas. Please remember the reason for the season.

WHAT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Last month it was 25 BILLION now it is 34 BILLION. The car folks are like teenagers asking for more cash and not telling us that the extra 9 BILLION is to buy extra beer with. WHAT ARE THEY THINKING. If we give them that much money the auto companies should give each taxpaying American a damn free car and then they would be bankrupt anyway. I should at least get another truck out of the deal before I have to buy a Japanese psuedotruck. Congress is just pandering to the unions, management is trying to figure out how to put up enough money to retire to the Caribbean, Gettlefinger is just trying to figure out what happened, and they all are trying to hurry up and get done before the taxpayer figures out that someone forgot the Vaseline. I am glad to own horses. At least I will be able to get from one place to the other when our country is bankrupt. I also know how to grow my own food, kill my own meat, fix a 40 year old tractor, build my own buildings, and I have a nice 78 El Camino that will work just fine to get me from one place to another without computer to breakdown. We will soon be back to where we belong. As Bocepheus says A Country Boy Can Survive. I am going for a great big tumbler of the cure so I can forget this nonsense for at least an hour or two.
